Olivia Ouyang Bonetti

Artist & Marketing

My name is Olivia, Ou Yang is my former Chinese family name.
I have been painting ever since I could hold a pencil. I started to study traditional Chinese painting at a very early age, which lasted for 8 years.
During that time, my work was selected to be in many art shows and won several national awards.
Although I didn’t choose painting as my profession by the time I finished high school, I knew that painting is still a big part of my life.
Three years ago, after I finished my master’s degree in the U.K., I followed my husband and moved back to Zurich.
While I started my new life over here, I finally get a chance to devote more time into painting again.
My favorite element to experiment with is combining Chinese painting and watercolor together. My paintings featured a wide range of subjects such as flowers, plants, birds, animals, mountains, and much more. I enjoy seeing how a colorful painting can add brightness to any room. The most rewarding part of being an artist is seeing the delighted face of the people when they see my works. And right now I am more than happy to share my experience with everyone who comes to PaintEvents to enjoy the collision of colors.

We will start this workshop with a meditative tea ceremony. (ca.30min)

Enjoy a Fun and Relaxing PaintEvent in Zurich!

Try something new and treat yourself to a colorful time out. During a PaintEvent one of our local artists supports you in creating your very own masterpiece (for you to take home). The goal is to create a fun and stress-free environment for you to slow down and let your creativity flow.

About Tea Ceremony:

Chinese tea ceremony was born as a result of the respect for nature and need for peace. The philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism have blended together giving birth to the magical Chinese tea ceremony.  As the time passed, tea ceremonies become social, cultural and traditional events in different celebrations to mark different important events in people’s lives.

At today’s event, we will have a 30 mins tea ceremony to welcome our guests, and all the guests will receive a gift package from us according to their specific preference.

About the Koi Fish Painting:

The transparency of watercolor is a magical character which is not available in other pigments. Our workshop is to use this character to create a superimposed effect, forming abundant layers, making the painting light and elegant without a decorous feeling. With a little bit skill and time, the beauty and softness of the flowers will be fully showed as your own artwork.

Olivia creates traditional Chinese art with western medium and techniques. Find out more about her artworks here.

No Prior Painting Experience Necessary – We will offer you the option to trace the shapes and the composition, but of course you’re welcome to draw everything freely before adding watercolors. This event is mainly about coloring and how to benefit the most from the medium watercolor. But if you like to have some input on drawing and sketching the shapes, Olivia is very happy to assist!
Frist time or frequent painters – all kind of questions are more than welcome! Our host will be happy to assist and chat. Inspiration is all around 🙂
Tea ceremony, All Painting Materials Provided and Included in the Ticket Price. Sizes available: A5, A4 and A3
if you finish earlier: why not paint a second painting? no extra cost 🙂
You like the subject of the painting but not the colors? No problem, we always keep all colors ready. Our host is happy to show you how to create your desired color tone!
Language of Instruction: English
Tea & Coffee included. BYOB („Bring your own beverages“ or „Bring your own Brunch“) if you would like to enjoy a beer or wine while painting. Or, treat yourself with a fancy drink from our lovely neighbours the Bederbar!
