Talk: Overcoming Creative Blocks (free)
January 4 @ 12:00 - 14:30CHF12
My story started some time ago in Romania, where I was born in a family of 3 different cultures: Greek, German and Ukrainian. Soon after I had finished my engineering education, I left Romania and I lived in different countries as a global nomad. At some point in my life I had a regular office job and eventually a bore out. I saved myself quitting it and retreating into Hindu and Buddhist philosophy. A 2 year stay in an Ashram followed. This altered not just my world views and my beliefs but also influenced the way I express myself in art. I paint with my hands but my feelings, emotions and my intuition are in charge; the hand is just a tool. I never know how a paining is going to look like in the end. It is always a surprise to me. All I am doing is to stay as much as possible in a meditative, no-thought, neutral state of mind and let the intuition do the work, pick the right color, move the canvas, stroke the brush in the right direction.

About the Talk: Overcoming Creative Blocks in Your Art and Creativity
How many times does an artist stare at a blank piece of paper thinking: “What on earth do I paint? Where do I put my first mark? What should I do next?”
Sometimes the artistic self wants to express itself creatively, but doesn’t know where to begin. Or sometimes it has begun but then finds itself stuck due to fear, anxiety, old and unaware beliefs or a seemingly block of creative flow or ideas.
I’ve discovered that the reason more people don’t express themselves is not because they can’t — but because they don’t realize how universal their fears are, how necessary their work is in the world or just how beneficial it is to express themselves freely through any medium they choose.
What Are The Perils?
The perils are: fear, vulnerability, self doubt, second guessing, overthinking, self criticism, paralysis, creative block, just to name a few. In my talk and through easy exercises I will break down some of the fears and beliefs which stop us from creating, such as:
- I am not creative (I am not creative enough)
- I don’t have talent (I am not talented enough)
- I am not good enough
- I am not doing (painting, drawing, etc) it perfect
- I am not good at starting something new
- I am afraid of doing something (painting, drawing, etc.) wrong
- I am afraid of being rejected if someone does not like my artwork
- I don’t want to be criticized
- I am afraid of being/expressing my true self
- I don’t know which is my style, I don’t find my style
- I don’t like to deal with the ambiguity
- I don’t get into “the flow”, I don’t know how
As an artist, I have always felt being called to explore the relationships between creation and consciousness, evolution, science and philosophy.
As a teacher and guide, I have developed my own multi-faceted approach to healing and to creativity that is enriched with holistic depth. My approach focuses on how creative expression can shift perceptions, change behaviours and help integrate new insights.
