You can work with colors, dots, lines, shapes and textures and create a personal visual rhythm in a painting but you can also feel free and work in the intuitive way, gestural, you also can explore all different kinds of techniques.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop series include four sections:<strong>\u00a0Grisaille,<\/strong> <strong>Layering, Blending and Sgraffito<\/strong> , at each section you will learn a specific technique which will help you to achieve a new level for your abstract learning process &#8230;&#8230; on every second Monday, Rolando, our friend, host and artist from Cuba is looking forward to assist you to enjoy this new creative experience.<strong>You don\u2019t necessarily need to participate the workshops in sequence.<\/strong>\u00a0Every workshop is an individual section.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Today&#8217;s workshop &#8211;\u00a0Sgraffito<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Literally meaning s<em>cratch<\/em>, sgraffito is a painting technique where the artist scratches the top layer of paint, while still wet, to reveal a bottom layer of a different color.<\/p>\n<p>The background needs to be completely dry before you can start applying to top layer. To keep the acrylic paint of the top layer wet long enough to finish the sgraffito, you may add a retarder medium.<\/p>\n<p>To obtain the sgraffito effect, you can use a variety of tools, like the edge of a painting knife, the tip of a brush handle, a wire brush, or any sharp tool that serves the purpose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This event is limited to a maximum of 10 people per session to ensure a calm atmosphere and optimal guidance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find more about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.saatchiart.com\/duartes\">Rolando&#8217;s work here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note:\u00a0<\/strong>This is not a typical &#8220;guided event&#8221;. There will be no step-by-step instructions for a particular painting. Instead, Rolando will show you techniques and tricks and encourage you to paint intuitively and freely. Also, this event takes place during our studio opening hours, we might have some open painting guests as well at the other table.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fa fa-paint-brush\"><\/i>\u2022 No prior Painting experience necessary, we&#8217;ll provide options for all levels<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 canvas and all Painting Materials Provided and Included in the Ticket Price. Our standard canvas size is 30x40cm, but you can upgrade to another size (e.g. 40x50cm, round 50cm, square 40cm) for 5-12CHF<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Additional Canvas available at the studio (15-20Fr, paint incl.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Language of Instruction: English &amp; Espa\u00f1ol<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>This workshop is in English and Espa\u00f1ol.
