Paint Like Ana Paz: Open Door

In our „PaintLike“ workshops, selected paintings are recreations of works by artists from various times. We are thrilled to announce a special Paint Like Workshop – it’s hosted by the artist herself! Ana Paz is an unique artist from Romania, based in Aeschi, Spiez. While having a background in engineering, Ana studied Spanish Philology, travelled around the world and spent 2 years in an Ashram. Somewhere along the way, she fell in love with art and pursued this passion ever since. While her engineering training gave her the shapes, the strict, exact forms and structure, the Arabic/ Spanish and the Eastern cultures opened herself to colors, curves and random shapes. On this Saturday afternoon, Ana will take the expression „colourful playground“ to another level. Treat yourself with a relaxing afternoon and experience (shiny) acrylic paint in a way you will never forget!

Some words from the artist about painting: „I paint with my hands but my feelings, emotions and my intuition are in charge; the hand is just a tool. I never know how a paining is going to look like in the end. It is always a surprise to me. All I am doing is to stay as much as possible in a meditative, no-thought, neutral state of mind and let the intuition do the work, pick the right color, move the canvas, stroke the brush in the right direction. It is all about a magic dance between how I feel in that moment and how much I can let myself go with the flow. It is the opposite of thinking and planning, a child-like state. I play and I discover a new universe where neither time nor space exists. I start with an idea; then the idea takes its own life. It’s more like I am a midwife, helping deliver something, than creating. I have to be open and aware, and figure out what it’s trying to become. Anything can happen at any point.“

No prior Painting experience necessary. Ana will break down the whole process into very small and easy steps so it’s accessible for everyone. One canvas (30x40cm) and all Painting Materials Provided and Included in the Ticket Price. Additional canvases & paint are available at the studio (15-30CHF) You like the style but no the colors? No problem, we’ve got A LOT of colours. If you can’t find your favourite, we will be happy to show you how to mix your desired color tone. Here are some other colour options for Ana’s „Open Door“ paintings. Do you like shiny things? We’ve got pearly, silver, copper and golden acrylic Paint! Language of Instruction: English (übersetzung auf Deutsch vorhanden bei Bedarf) You are welcome to bring your own food or drinks to the studio (BYOB) Free tea & coffee! Once you finished the background, this painting will need some time to dry. While waiting, you have the possibility to create something else, grab an ice cream (Migrolino is just around the corner) or chat with the artist 🙂 We will start the instructions at 1PM. If you have time, come a bit earlier and have a coffee or tea! The studio will be open from 12:30AM. Please note: For this events, full frequent painter cards cannot be redeemed.
