Olivia Ouyang Bonetti
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember — ever since I could hold a pencil. At a very young age, I began studying traditional Chinese painting, a journey that lasted nearly ten years. During that time, my work was selected for several exhibitions and received a number of national and international awards.
Even though I didn’t choose painting as a professional path after finishing high school, I always knew it would remain an important part of my life.
In 2014, after completing my master’s degree in the UK, I moved back to Zurich with my husband. Starting a new chapter here also gave me the opportunity to reconnect with painting and dedicate more time to creating again.
In 2018, I joined the PaintEvents team, and in 2022 I became a co-owner of the studio and part of the management team.
One of the things I enjoy most in my work is experimenting with the combination of traditional Chinese painting techniques and watercolor. My paintings often explore subjects from nature — flowers, plants, birds, animals, mountains, and more. I love how a colorful painting can instantly bring warmth and energy to a space.
For me, the most rewarding part of being a business owner is seeing the joy on people’s faces when they paint at our studio. I’m especially happy to share my passion and experience with everyone who comes to PaintEvents and enjoys the magic that happens when colors come together.
