Creativity Workshop is a painting workshop series to introduce the basic techniques of Modern Abstract Painting. Abstract painting is a wonderful gateway for satisfying artistic expression. You can work with colors, dots, lines, shapes and textures and create a personal visual rhythm in a painting but you can also feel free and work in the intuitive way, gestural, you also can explore all different kinds of techniques.

We are ecstatic to invite you to our dynamic and colorful event: Abstract Oil Pastel Workshop. Get ready to unleash your creativity and explore the vibrant world of oil pastels in an exciting, hands-on experience.

An oil pastel is a painting and drawing medium formed into a stick which consists of pigment mixed with a binder mixture of non-drying oil and wax. The history of oil pastels is short and colorful. Like acrylic painting, it’s an invention of the twentieth century. Many good examples can be found in museums of modern art, as it’s one of the new mediums that Pablo Picasso pioneered.

What you’ll experience in this workshop:

• Exploring Oil Pastels: Discover the rich, creamy texture of oil pastels. Learn about the best brands, surfaces, and tools to enhance your artwork.
• Abstract Art Fundamentals: Dive into abstract art principles and techniques. Understand how to break free from traditional art forms and express your emotions and ideas through color and form.
• Color Theory and Blending: Master the essentials of color theory. Learn to blend and layer colors to create depth, contrast, and harmony in your abstract pieces.
• Texture Techniques: Experiment with various methods to add texture and dimension to your artwork. Try out techniques like sgraffito, stippling, and layering to create dynamic effects.
• Creative Expression: Embrace your unique artistic voice. We’ll guide you through exercises to help you tap into your intuition and creativity, resulting in a personal masterpiece that reflects your individual style.
• Final Project: Apply all the techniques and knowledge you’ve gained to create a stunning abstract oil pastel artwork, perfect for displaying in your home or gifting to someone special.

Please note: This is not a typical “guided event”. There will be no step-by-step instructions for a particular painting. Instead, Rolando will show you techniques and tricks and encourage you to paint intuitively and freely. Also, this event takes place during our studio opening hours, we might have some open painting guests as well at the other table.

• No prior Painting experience necessary, we’ll provide options for all levels
• 1 black oil pastel sheet (30×40) and all Painting Materials Provided and Included in the Ticket Price.

This workshop is in English and Español.
